NUDE.com has an 86% bounce rate and I love it. Get theuck offf my site and go to a sponsor. Oops put that F in the wrong place.
You clearly dont understand what a bounce rate is. A bounce is someone who leaves your site without clicking anything

They arent going to your sponsors

So youve got 86% of your users closing your site without clicking anything.

You can throw all the insults you like at me. Water off a ducks back

Ive been in this game long enough to know that when google tells you you've got an 87% bounce rate then YOUVE GOT A PROBLEM. That many users are NOT clicking on your sponsors whilst carefully avoiding your internal links. That simply doesn't happen on a blog page like that

They are bouncing by CLOSING your page !

Whats more I know exactly WHY they are bouncing. I used google to run some analysis on your page and you have two MAJOR issues. Believe it or not, there's MILLIONS of users out there who CANNOT click on your internal links, even if they tried.

But seeing as I am stupid, soft in the head, not very smart (and all the other insults youve thrown at me recently) then Im not going to tell you. Work it out yourself
This is a perfect example of why you are an idiot.

You have no idea, you can not see my stats, you have done no research, and you are just typing in your ignorance.

the way the tools you share work, how could anyone, including yourself trust them.

I do not want people going to my internal pages.. are you NOT paying attention.
First I dont care about the site.. you continue to think I would and should.

Almost every link in home page is a link to an external site. Because I want people to leave.

I have the analytics for ALL the sites that I link to, I can see how many visitors are referred from NUDE.com

I know not all 87% are going to these sites.
I know that the true bounce rate is around 40%

I could
I don't care. Pay attention!

I have done nothing but add more external links and banner to the site for years. Even the automated content has stopped working.

You have performed more webmaster duties on the site this year than me.

I look at stats occasionally.
I did go look and yes something is up and a lot is broken that was not broken before, so thanks for pointing that out.

Still don't care, I do not plan to do much to fix it. UNLESS I see my clicks to my ads to down.

I will probably go fix the watch 4 beauty picture of the day area at some point and some other broken images that were not there last time I looked.

Again NOT a priority. Thanks for pointing it out.

However you thinking you know anything about me or my site is why you need to be duck and being a duck is why you should stop giving people poor and misleading advice.
Instead of using that water off your back to learn something. Well you can lead a duck to water...

FYI, in fact my referrals from nude.com top my other sites are up...
my conversions are up
the money coming in is up

so my methods are working to make me money
Stop trying to prove to others and yourself that the years you have been in business compares to me at all.

Every time I have recently tested or researched anything you have said comes out to be wrong!
Why call him an idiot that is harsh just post your opinion let others decide. :!:

There is no correct answer , all depends on what you are trying to achieve with your site.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

Best answer!
I will add
Since Google is always testing new keywords to present your site with, then your bounce can never be perfect. Google will always be pushing the limit as to what keywords are for your site.
As I think I have stated before.

Google does not use bounce rate, the way Analytics uses bounce rate.

Google uses whether or not the visitor returns to search for the same or similar search again.
Very bad for that single page's reputation with that exact keyword when the exact keyword is used again for a search.

You could have 100% bounce rate and still have a great ranking on Google.
take
https://www.strongpasswordgenerator.com

as an example now
https://privacycanada.net/strong-password-generator/

was number one last time I looked, now number two, but still the example stands

how many people do you think search a second time for either of these results?
how many people do you think view a second page?

Whatever your idea about bounce rates, what is the range you like to see for your particular goal.

Figures vary but in general you should expect your website’s bounce rate to be anywhere between 26%-70%, with an average between 45%-65%.

There are some caveats to that. For example, wikipedia has a high bounce rate because people tend to look up the meaning of something then close the page. Also traffic from say display adds tends to bounce more than search traffic.

No google does NOT use your bounce rate directly but they DO use things like your click thru rate (ie how many users click your link from their search results) and how many people search for your domain name

In our industry, if your users are bouncing either by closing the page or going straight out to your sponsors, then they are NOT engaged and they are unlikely to click your link again much less search for your domain name.

In such a competitive industry as this, we need to engage the user as much as possible because an engaged user converts and returns, time and time again.

While tacnet is correctish, I rarely believe numbers that are the top results in a Google search.
Confirmation bias! Cognitive bias is another reason. (not tacnet but the people running google and believing google.)

I did some research and this is one document I found that might be easy for you to read. lots of pictures and colors
https://go.contentsquare.com/hubfs/2021 ... square.pdf

When looking at a bounce rate there is SO much more to consider.
Are you looking at the average of averages for a bounce rate?
Are you looking at a particular page?
Have you drilled down to the traffic source and or the device category? Both?

I am working on a clients page where the bounce rate is over 84.96%. The average average bounce rate.
The mobile is 87.78%
The desttop is 78.49%
The tablet is 83.33%

Site average bounce rate is 50.63% A lot of the landing pages are product pages with prices in the $1000s, thus a high bounce rate for these pages.

The page I am working on is a how to clean our product page. Thus one of the pages that most people will read and then leave. In this case the time on page is very low, so I doubt many are reading it.

The traffic source bounce rate could tell a different story, in your case. This page has one main traffic source, Google Organic. with 92.45% of the traffic coming from Google organic.
While the bounce rate is HIGH I see in Google Search Console a steady increase in for impressions with the occasional spike or dip in relation to Google updates, etc.
The average CTR for the past 12 months is 4.1%, the last 3 months has declined to 3.3% last 28 days 3.1% Last 7 days 2.9%.
Why is the CTR changing/decreasing?
Easy answer. Google seems to like our CTR and other variables of the behavior of the visitors they send to this page.
This is why Google is increasing the impressions for the page.
What I did not mention yet, was the keywords/queries for these impressions.
As Google tests new queries on this page and our snippet fails to be clicked, the CTR declines. For these queries Google will stop showing this page and then test other queries.
This decreases the average average for the CTR, and the ranking for the specific queries that are not clicked.
I will pause here.
The important thing to do is do NOT look at your bounce rate and think it means anything. Depending where you are looking it is an average of averages. Which almost mean nothing.

Bounce rate is a guide. Like Alexa rankings alone it means next to nothing.

Im sorry but this is missleading

Its quite simple, if you have a webpage/website that you want the user to engage with then you dont want high bounce rates....period.

If on the other hand, you have a single page that you dont expect the user to engage with (eg a blog post) then you dont mind a high bounce rate.

Rates will vary according to traffic souce and whether its mobile, desktop, tablet etc but its all relative. A high desktop bounce rate is likely to mean a high mobile bounce rate too

MOST WEBSITES (and certainly in the adult industry) want to engage the user and therefore you want to get your bounce rate as low as possible

This is the ongoing problem with you.
You only see things from your perspective.

You do not manage sites like everyone else.

My post was not misleading.
It was an example of a page with a very high bounce rate and a partial introduction of average average,

Just because you can not comprehend what I wrote does not mean it is misleading.

Why are you so negative? Is it because you can not comprehend the complexity of my statements? or you just jealous that I am me?

I do want a high bounce rate, so your statement " you dont want high bounce rates....period. " is incorrect. YOU tacnet to not want a high bounce rate because you operate a site that is the end of the line, bottom of the funnel.
My sites and many of the site managed by webmaster here are at, near the top or in the middle of a funnel. They want a higher bounce rate.

If a site's revenue is generated by the clicks of ads, PPC, then a high bounce rate can be a very good thing.
If a site's revenue is generated by an action on another site, then a high bounce rate can be a very good thing.

A higher bounce rate indicates fewer visitors are clicking on links to other pages on your site, whereas a lower bounce rate indicates more visitors are clicking to other pages.

Ask yourself a simple question, do you want people clicking to another page or clicking your ads!
Tacnet want people to never leave his site and to pay to be there. Once you understand where he is coming from then you can comprehend is narrowed vision.
His goals might not be yours.

In my example, the high bounce rate and introduction to average average was to keep people from reading the average average and thinking a high bounce rate meant something negative.

It does not.

Tacnet stating otherwise is foolish and lacks the full story of what bounce rate is and could mean to someone else's goals.

I am fairly certain that Tacnet has no idea what I mean by average average!
https://lemire.me/blog/2005/10/28/avera ... %20Paradox.
https://convalytics.com/statistics/taki ... its-wrong/

Simpson’s Paradox?

https://www.coffeycomm.com/blog/posts/m ... -rate-bad/
Whether a high average bounce rate is good or bad depends on a variety of factors, including user goals, the type of content, the devices used to visit your site and your Google Analytics settings. You shouldn't view your website's average bounce rate independently of these other considerations.

Read the above article a few times, I enjoyed it.
If you are a TLDR person then reading what I am sharing is beyond your capabilities.

BTW, the changes I made to the page in my example, first day bounce rate dropped 12 points below the average (still not the lowest bounce in page history but a good sign.)
Time on page also went up.
FYI, One day means next to nothing!

While I am thinking about it.
Make sure you add and continually update your IP in your Analytics Admin Filters, so you are not counted as a site visitor.
Now I need to verify the site owner has updated his IPs and also the site manager. As a low traffic page stats will greatly change when the people working on it are tracked in Analytics.

There's a lot your Google Analytics account can tell you, and no single metric should ever be analyzed alone.

Ive spent every day for the last 13 years (since we started our affiliate program) working with literally hundreds of affiliates including some of the biggest porn sites in the world. Its my job ! I know exactly how hard it is for affiliates these days and how they make their money. We have several affiliate sites of our own

You seem to think that every bounce is because a user is clicking on your adds and NOTHING else. Whilst I really dont want to pick on your site again but using it as an example, I can tell you that in your case that isnt so.

I dont need to see your stats, google gives your site a page speed index of 19.2 seconds and a time to interactive of 16.2 seconds which is EXTREMELY slow. That means users are having to wait 16.2 seconds before they can click on anything. Thats why you have an 87% bounce rate or whatever it was, not because they are clicking on your adds

Of course there's always examples of pages where a high bounce rate is expected and even desirable (banner farms, blog posts, link list, checkout pages etc) but in the adult industry the most succesful affiliates are usually the ones that engage the user with a mixture of content and adds. Just look at pornhub, xhamster, xvideos (all TAC affiliates) and even youtube. They ALL engage the user with content whilst presenting them with adds and keeping their bounce rate low

An engaged user will return time and time again. He'll remember your domain name and start searching for you on google. He might even bookmark your site and THATS how you drive up traffic and consequently your add clicks. An engaged user can be worth literally hundreds of bounced users

And so I say again, if you have a webpage/website that you want the user to engage with then you dont want high bounce rates....period.

[BUSINESS] bounce rate
