Just compared their traffic profile with a couple of other sites where I know the turnover and my very rough guess is they are doing less than $3k a month turnover
I respectfully would disagree, I think it is doing way more in sales.

Don't fall for Alexa rank, yes it is very low at 2,460,849 but it also shows 77.47% of the search traffic is from pornstar.com

You can get more sales with less traffic that is searching for something than a lot of traffic that is not looking for something.

20 years ago I am sure you will remember sites were buying traffic at ridiculous rates, up to $15 CPM, if you tell a 2021 webmaster sites would pay you $15 for 1000 exit or popunder hits they will think you are crazy and don't know what you are talking about but that was then. The model was throw enough shit against the wall and some will buy, but that was when there was at most 100 paysites out there if that.

Today with search traffic you can make sales even though every one seems to be running a membership site. I would guess they are doing way more than $3k a month is gross sales.

My 2 cents
Yeah your right about search traffic but thats not quite what that alexa report is saying

Its saying that 77.47% of their total search traffic is for the phrase pornstar.com (not that they get 77% of their traffic from search engines).

Similarweb reports that they only get 5.24% from search engines and are averaging less than 50k hits a month https://www.similarweb.com/website/porn ... /#overview

That means they are doing around 1.6k hits a day (50k divided by 30). Of which approx 83 hits come from search engines (1.6k * 5%) and 77% of those are for the phrase pornstar.com (ie people that type the domain into google rather than the address bar)

That leaves only 19 hits a day from normal search traffic

Totally shocked me but thats what Alexa and Similarweb are suggesting

Gotcha boss but what is surprising is how a domain such as pornstar.com is getting so little traffic, you would excpet a lot more type in traffic.

There is another explanation, just a a guess, they might have subdomains which do not show up on the Alexa rank of the root domain what do you think of this possibility.

No cant be that. Both alexa and similarweb would include the subdomains in the overall figures

Looks like somebody has bought it thinking they could just sit back and let the money roll in and done nothing with it

Similarweb says they get zero referral traffic and zero social traffic

Im amazed. What a waste

Wow Somebody has got more money than sense there with some of those domain names

Cant believe cam.com is only ranked 1.1million https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/cam.com

For a 3 letter domain name that is shocking

Definitely not what you would do with a $1.5 Mill domain unless you don't care about the money you paid for it  ;) :!:

and surprise surprise guess what it is a white label of cambuilder.com

Registrant Name: Cambuilder Manager from whois.

cambuilder.com either owns these domains or has some arrangement with them, or a lot of high profile domains use their cam setup and never bother to build up their traffic.

On a side note Beth sold PK.com years ago and that was at one point for a short period of time a Chinese dialect landing page and then taken off and just a blank page. Why would anyone in their right mind buy a 2 C dot com not use it. Those puppies ain't cheap.

I go back to my previous reply, people do buy domains and sometimes over pay to spend money, not going to elaborate on that, read between the lines. The same is true for exotic cars, jewelery , antiques, art works......... Of course not saying or inferring that is the case with any of the domains mentioned in this thread but it has been known to happen at times with other web properties.

This forum is ranked 5 times higher than pornstar.com and twice as high as cam.com !!! :)

Yeah your probably right. looks like they were registered in the late 90s when people were going nuts for domain names

They've obviously talked somebody into investing millions up front

I guess its like people who buy private number plates for their cars. Doesnt make your car go any faster but looks good

Question is, is it worth $1.5 million ??? I would say no way but somebody might well pay that just because of the name

Thinking out loud, probably not related.

from the 2257 statement on asian.com
"Custodian of Records
ICF Technology, Inc.
800 Stewart St
Seattle, WA 98101"

Remember Flying Crocodile Inc their name servers are used for some of the sites on that list, who is ICF Techology Inc, both have Seattle WA address, maybe just a coincidence.

Wouldn't that be the custodian of records for cambuilder.com though as they are the producers ??

Never heard of flying crocodile
