Why webmasters use white labels in place of sending their traffic to a sponsor site, this is my guess, ego. They think having a white label on their domain makes them more important or special. My sales to the sponsor sites are more than to my white labels, so I stopped going with WL's.

This has been my experience, except that I am not sending my traffic away and I get the SEO value>

I control the URLs forever. so with a whitelabel you can upgrade you site where as a sponsor you are just sending traffic out.

You could go into the t-shirt biz. spreadshirt.com let's you create as many shops and products as you want. You do need to create your own designs. At present I have a standalone shop on their domain, 2 shops that are integrated into adult sites, plus I sell products and designs in their market place. There's a couple WP plugins in the repository as well. My sells have been going up lately. Not enough to live off but it's another egg in the basket. One of my shops is integrated here.
