Corruption is still a big problem in Ukraine

"A 15-month investigation and 1,000 hours of wiretapping culminated Monday in 70 raids."
https://www.politico.eu/article/ukraine ... gy-sector/
this painful to admit but it's true.
on other side this news is about anti-corruption raids which is good

Will all the Ukrainians who fled the war go back once it's over to help rebuild the country?

How many billion of our tax dollars we sent has gone to the pockets of these people in Ukraine.
First of all I want to thank all these taxpayers. Without this help I probably would be conscripted in russian army and attacking Poland.
Or fled my homeland which is under optional also.

Secondly
Most of money (70%+) are staying in US: on US factories and in US workers pockets.
US modernized old weapon and tested new one in real battlefield.
We destroyed almost half of russian war potential for 0.3% US budget per year and ZERO US casualties. (Except volunteers, which we honor as own soldiers)
And of course rare metal deal. Which is fine. Freedom has a price.

So it's not that simple and actually it's very smart move from your government.

Biden was sending hundreds of billions,Trump is not sending as much, how would the war have played out if Biden was re-elected do you think things would be more favorable to Ukraine.

Who knows... I noticed some cold in UA/US relationships long before Trump won.
I don't know exactly what happened but probably it was corruption issues.
And that's a shame that most people must struggle because of the greed of some.

We need elections soon. Long uncontrolled power is poisonous for the man.

It's pretty obvious to me what is going on Zelensky the actor who played a president on tv has outlived his usefulness to his masters, the time has come to replace him with another puppet and end this war. Ukraine lost the war before it started, that was never in doubt, now to pass the blame on to Zelensky and blame him. In the process he and a lot of his cronies made billions in cash.

Unfortunately for the Ukrainian people their country got destroyed, they lost parts of it, and a lot of innocent people died.

He'll disappear to London, Abu Dhabi, Tel Aviv or New York in that order with all the cash to live like a king.

All due respect my friend it's not what is happening on the ground. The reality is Ukraine got played and lost territory and more importantly people. Human lives are what count not some real estate. The time has come to end this war and Zelensky like all puppets before him in other countries will be the fall guy when the fat lady sings. They will get rid of him in disgrace and make him the bad guy.

With all due respect, it was Viktor Yanukovych who was Putin's puppet president in Ukraine. He was totally corrupt and eventually fled the country after mass protests in 2014 (the so called "Orange Revolution"). That's what led to Putin invading Crimea in the first place. If he couldn't control Ukraine through corruption, he would control it by force.

Zelensky won his election by a landslide with a promise to root out corruption which is exactly what he is doing. Gallup has his current approval rating at 67% which are the kind of numbers any western leader would love to have

As for the situation on the ground, Russia should have won this years ago. They have approx 3 times as many soldiers as Ukraine but they are suffering, what any other country would consider, catastrophic losses. They have just spent the last 10 months advancing no more than 3 or 4 miles and have suffered around 320,000 losses in that same period. Just think about that for a minute. If the average height of a soldier is say 5ft7 then they could have advanced much further if they had simply laid down !!

Add to that they are the most sanctioned country on the planet. Their economy is in a mess (so much so that Putin has had to promise to reduce military spending in 2026) and they have succeeded in uniting NATO and bringing it right up to their borders.

I agree with XXXtrailers. Russia has already lost this war

Before Ukraine became the sudden darling of the US it was labelled as one of the most corrupt countries in the world and I do not doubt past presidents could have been corrupt. Zelensky's ran on a peace platform and finding a way to get along with the ethnic Russians in Ukraine and after taking office he started bombing them, typical politician say one thing to get in office do a 180 degree turn after taking office.

The Russians are not trying to take land they are after all the largest country in the world by land mass, this is a war of attrition. They have outright said it from the start of the SMO. They want to degrade and eliminate the threat of the Ukrainian military.

Obviously 20 rounds of sanctions or whatever it has been now by the US and EU has not done any harm to their economy. It has made them more resilient and self sufficient. Europe is going bankrupt and industries are failing faster than a New York minute. Look at the state of the German , French or British economies.

The outcome was on the wall before the first bullet was fired, but unfortunately innocent people are dying because Zelensky wants to cling onto power and get richer.

The US has decided he has to go and this whole corruption scandal is the means to have him flee the country. Remember that disastrous meeting in February at the WH when Trump told him off, that was the nail in his proverbial coffin, you never ever disrespect the US president like that.

Peace

Peace
I do love debating with you. We might not always agree but you do make some valid points r6d10k

You missed out a few things though. Long before Zelensky came to power, Putin had sent his now infamous "Little Green Men" into Eastern Ukraine. These were the same forces he had used to take Crimea. They are basically contractors with no uniforms or insignia that he can use to attack Ukraine whilst being able to deny its anything to do with Russia.

Zelensky DID campaign on making peace with Russia and, as soon as he came to power, he flew to Germany for his one and only meeting with Putin to try and resolve the situation. Putin, of course, said it was nothing to do with Russia and that these must be locals who are rebelling. The world now knows that was a lie. Zelensky had no choice but to fight back.

The sanctions have had a huge effect on the Russian economy. Putin was able to prop it up for the first 2 years with massive military spending but now the economy has flat lined. Q3 of this year shows a ZERO growth in GDP. Inflation is running at 8% and the Russian finance ministry has proposed raising the level of VAT from 20% to 22% in 2026

Zelensky is the one person who is NOT trying to cling to power. He has said many times that, unlike Putin, he doesn't want to be president for life. If anybody is trying to cling onto power, its Putin

One last point, its not an SMO. We are not in Russia and can call it what it is...... a WAR started by Putin :D

By the term SMO I can easily identify your information sources. Only who use it like this is russian propaganda.
Even neutral or close to russia countries (China, North Korea, Iran) call it war or "conflict".

So your information about this war comes mostly from russian channels. No wonder you believe it's still strong.

these fuckers used all possible inventory they had except nuclear heads (they used a lot of rockets capable to deliver these)
And lost more than half of their inventory total
pretty limited yeah)
