That is not how Ukrainian politics works)TheButcher wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2025, 10:34 amtacnet wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2025, 1:31 amThe only people with the authority to remove the Ukranian president is the Ukranian people. Not Trump or Putin and the people voted overwhelmingly for Zelensky. In fact his approval ratings are in the mid 60s....way more than almost any other democratic head of state.
Don't forget, Zelensky is not the first pro European president they have elected. 3 of their last 4 presidents have been pro Europe and anti Russia. The one that wasn't (Yanukovych) was ran out of the country when he refused to sign the EU trade deal and instead tried to cozy up to Putin. Clearly they don't want to be part of Russia anymore
If Trump tries to remove a democratically elected president then I suspect Europe will put boots on the ground and that would take us a lot closer to WW3
The day will come when Trump tells Zelensky to get on his bike. He's just a useful tool for America to fight this proxy war with Russia. And no European countries can not do anything without America so whatever the US president says flies.
My 2 cents.
US have huge impact on it, but this scenario is a huge overestimating of this impact.
If he will be supported by the people, no country will change that. We could fight totally alone and we will, if somebody try to manage our leaders. russia is trying to do this for decades.
But I suppose it’s good to have an elections soon
We can see how staying too long in power can influence a person, on putin example. It’s poisonous.
