I live in Malta and use a Euro account with USD option, the FX fees paypal charge are so much less than other options. Where are you located?chimpchomp01 wrote: ↑July 8th, 2024, 2:55 amIf you're inside the US and only dealing in US currency it's fine. On the other hand, if you need to change currency, their exchange rates are ridiculous and they tend to sneak in hidden fees where ever possible. I've also had my account locked for no good reason on several occasions, despite being ID verified.Jag wrote: ↑July 5th, 2024, 5:07 amWhy you say that hon it is very simple to use and pay people withchimpchomp01 wrote: ↑July 3rd, 2024, 3:57 amConsider it a blessing in disguise. Really? My paypal is linked to an australian account. I save way more money using wise, most other remote business owners tend to avoid paypal also.Jag wrote: ↑July 8th, 2024, 12:40 pmI live in Malta and use a Euro account with USD option, the FX fees paypal charge are so much less than other options. One more hurdle for Ukrainian webmasters to handle during this tough time, ordinary people trying to make a living having to dodge missiles, bombs and try get paid.
You have to feel bad for anyone there right now.

Nice! Have been there once, had a good time. Culturally, they virtually identical. Australia tends to be a bit more enticing for most due to better weather (debatable nowadays) and economic opportunities. NZ is good if you enjoy the quiet life and nature. You can still earn good money there, however, there is a big housing crisis at the moment which is driving a lot of talent off shore.LookyLou wrote: ↑July 15th, 2024, 10:55 amBorn and always been an Angeleno. What reason did they give for "I've also had my account locked for no good reason on several occasions, despite being ID verified." were you in complaince with paypal's terms or were you skirting their rules?chimpchomp01 wrote: ↑July 8th, 2024, 2:55 amIf you're inside the US and only dealing in US currency it's fine. Got to look into these two as alternatives to PayPal

My account was originally registered in Aus, then I moved to Asia to become a digital nomad. I then removed cookies on my browser due to caching issues and Paypal asked me to verify using a phone number. They would not accept any other number except and Aus one, my Aus number was no longer working. I then rang their customer service and had to speak to three people before someone would listen and get me back in. Prior to this I had already sent them my passport, drivers license, bank statements.
Story 2
I once paid someone using paypal the exact amount of money they had told me to send. They then rejected the payment saying I had insufficient funds. I paid the person via wire instead. I then found out Pyapal had paid the person using their own funds and they started sending me debt collection letters. I got the double payment refunded by the recipient through Paypal. Paypal then exchange rate arbitraged the refund so I was down $50 for no reason.
I'm not saying it doesn't work for some people, but it's definitely not my preference for online payments.

I've hired a lot of talented devs and marketers out of their actually. They have a talented workforce and good work ethic. Perhaps history just hasn't gone their way, they are probably more resilient people than the average westerner.BrasSmonkey wrote: ↑August 27th, 2024, 8:03 pmNATO said the ukraine is full of scamming pieces of shit...
