It can be reversed if we act now. The trouble is if we leave it too long then we are in danger of reaching a tipping point where it cant be reversed and things just keep getting hotter and hotter. One obvious example is the polar ice caps. Ice reflects 90% of the suns energy thus cooling the planet whereas the sea absorbs 90% of the suns energy thus heating the planet. So the more the ice caps melt, the warmer the sea gets leading to higher temperatures and more ice melt. Its a vicious circle

Some people say "well the earth has gone through periods of global warming in the past and we've always come out of it ok" and that is true. But we are talking about the prehistoric past when the earth was covered in giant forests that could act as a carbon sink, capturing any excess CO2 from the atmosphere and locking it away. Well of course we have chopped down all those forests and burnt their remains in the form of coal and gas so there is no natural carbon sink left to help get us out of this.

We really are heading full speed into the unknown with our eyes closed and our foot hard down on the accelerator.

We are ALREADY changing the levels. CO2 emissions are going up and up each year and we can see the results all around us. What scientists are saying is we need to STOP changing the levels and reduce it back down to where we were 30 years ago

Thankfully people like you who think its all a big conspiracy are only a tiny minority in the world. The rest of us (over 194 countries covering 99% of global carbon emissions) have signed up to fight climate change and are working to reduce CO2 emissions.
