The only reason EV sales have slumped is because a lot of countries have pushed back the cut off date from 2030 to 2035

But its only a delay, there is no question that EVs are going to take over eventually

BYD is big in China and they are affordable.Something car makers need to keep in mind, price the things so people can afford to buy them.

I am not surprised and really not a fan of EV's. The only EV i like is the 7 Series from BMW, I honestly think Mercedes has the ugliest looking electric cars for a luxury brand, the S Class is nice then they go make the EQS which looks like crap. For some reason manufacturers make their electric cars look as weird and ugly as possible.
Mercedes finally realized their EQS is ugly and no one wants it , so they did what I said they should have done in the first place, made an electric version of the S Class.

"It appears that someone reminded Mercedes-Benz of the old saying, "You need to break a few eggs to make an omelet," because the egg-shaped EQS sedan will be killed after its first generation. There's no need to mourn, though. According to a new report by Autocar, the EQS will be succeeded by a new S-class EV that will be sold alongside the next-generation internal-combustion version. Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius confirmed the news to Autocar. "There will be two S-classes in the future—ICE and electric," he said."

I can not afford a 7 series BMW or an S class Mercedes but if I could it would be a V8 not electric. The exhaust sounds from V* cars is sexy.

A BMW 7 Series since it looks like a normal car or I could go for a Rolls Royce Spectre if I had the money but that is about it.

You see the rectangular gadget in the lower facia that is straight out of the BMW 760Li parts bin.

Is 2030 still the goal for new car sales to be electric only?

Oops more good news for gas powered cars this time form Volvo.

Volvo has realized not as many people as they thought want these EV cars..

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6205 ... 90-teaser/

" Volvo today announced that it will not necessarily follow through on its original plans to have a fully electric lineup by 2030.
Volvo acknowledged that different markets will move towards EVs at different paces, so it will keep hybrid and PHEV models available to ease the transition.
The EV transition won't stop, however, with Volvo teasing the upcoming ES90 electric sedan."

The key sentence I take away from that is The EV transition won't stop, however, with Volvo teasing the upcoming ES90 electric sedan.

The transition to EVs is NOT going to stop whether you like it or not. Even if Trump gets in and fulfills his "we are gonna drill, drill, drill" promise it wont make any difference. Global car manufacturers are NOT going to go back to developing gas gussling petrol cars just for America especially when they know Trump could be out of office in just 4 years time

EVs are coming and in 15-20 years, you wont be able to find a gas station much less fill up at one

Here is the problem they tried to force it on people too fast. If they had let electric cars evolve and get better people might have taken to them to be cool.

Its not like we have a choice. Domestic transport is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.

I think it comes down to this - Either you believe climate change is real and we have to do something about it, or you dont

China is the big winner, they produce more EV's than any other country, they produce more cobalt and assemble electric batteries than any other country.
