Ask brassmonkey and alexo they tried various niche specific forums, some open some private, no one supported them after the first week. Why not just discuss it in this forum?

A separated open topic of Coding and Design in your list of forums will separate the topic from the general threads in this area. A forum just for Coding and Design topic, or 'niche', can be expanded in its own forum with various related topics that have to do with coding and design.

If I were to create a thread in the general area it would be lost and buried. Why not have a separate forum for Coding and Design .. where all the opened threads under the topic would be easily found in one place?

I'm not going to open a thread about coding a specific php function in the general area if it will just be buried and lost within a few days by some tatoo or news thread etc. if ya know what I mean.

Patience ... is a virtue. Just because it may not be an active forum on your board every day doesn't mean it would not be a valued forum. It can be very useful to members and attract new members knowing its there. At least in my opinion.

There are not enough people interested to sustain a separate forum, we have been down this road a few times doe seo. If you post in the Mainchat and there is enough interest and participation I will create a separate forum.

.. Do you know how hard it is to try to find info about coding certain things, especially in the adult world, by searching google? It's practically non-existent. I think it would be useful for your board, quite honestly, to have such a forum within your board to discuss the topic of Coding and Design.

Not everyone on this board may be interested in it, but some surely will be, like the user that opened this thread, for example.

Not everyone on this board may need it, but the ones that do, will find it useful, is all that matters, imo.

I have thought of many topics I would have liked to open about coding and design, but I will not do it on your main general forum. It will just be lost and buried under news topics and other general bs. I truly think this would help your board in the long run by having a separate forum about Coding and Design / Development in the Adult Industry.

Also, there are not many adult boards around, really. And all the ones I have looked to find via search are not that good. AND NONE of them have a forum/topic about coding or designing adult stuff. Your board is good man! .. it certainly cannot hurt to have such a forum in it.

How is coding / design / development in the adult industry in " for other niches" make sense?

I very much feel it has very much potential, but, how can 'I try it' .. it's not '[my] your coding design threads' .. its all of the boards forum for the topic of Coding and Designing in the adult world; in or on this board. It's not just for me, its for anyone on this board that wants to talk about coding and designing in the adult industry.

Do a search for that and see what you find. Which will be just about nothing. If YOUR board has the topic then SE's will find YOUR board!

Zug try it my friend prefix the threads with [DESIGN] [CODING] what ever you think is appropriate. The only thing we will accomplish with a separate forum is a few new threads in the first week or two and no one will participate after that. I am actually thinking of merging the four forums in the "Business Opportunities" category into the Mainchat. No one bothers with any of the forums apart form the Mainchat. In 34 days it will be 19 years I have run this place, I have seen a few trends and the days of multiple forums is over.

Just take a look at the number of threads that move in the mainchat each day and compare it to those other forums.

I hear you when you say putting the design and coding threads in the Mainchat will cause them to quickly go down the first page or off the page, but that just goes to show people would not be interested in those threads otherwise they would be replying to them and those threads would stay on top.

I hope I am wrong, just show me I am wrong, do your threads (prefix them so they stand out) let's see how many people get involved.
