[BUSINESS] Submitted URL seems to be a Soft 404

My Google Search Console is giving 2 errors, both say.

"Submitted URL seems to be a Soft 404"

I think it is the htaccess redirects for pages not found going to my home page, how do i fix this.

Depends on your site, could be a few things. Like, if you submit a sitemap but some URLs go to things like blank category pages, blank search results pages, redirecting to irrelevant pages, could be pages that have text like "x is no longer available" or "x expired", could be showing 404 but also returning a 200, this can happen if you block Google from the site or CSS, etc.

Now I get it my site map is over a year old and I had pages on my site I have deleted, I am going to redo my site map. Thank you so much for the help.

Make sure you resubmit the site map when you change it

blocking google bot form any site is about as dumb a thing as you can do
