Alexa Retiring?

Just found out that Alexa.com will be retiring its services on May 1st, 2022. What ever will we do??? How will we view our analytics??? But but but I worked so hard for my alexa ranking

Alexa is more for business owners and Amazon users, there are much better tools to use for SEO like Semrush or Similar Web. Alexa also isn't exactly perfectly accurate at all.
I doubt many webmasters will miss it.

why would you close a site after 25 years is it to do with some legislation that comes into force where you can not track people's sites?

This is undoubtedly because of all the fake bot traffic out there. Over the last 6 months or so, its totally screwed up Alexa, gooogle analytics, yandex, semrush and other sites and there's no way for them to filter it out

Basically people are buying thousands of hits from fake traffic sites like https://www.sparktraffic.com/ or https://traffic-creator.com/. Its not real traffic but the bots have got very clever and now look and act just like real users. They dont just hit your page anymore. They can google your site, click on your links and they even have the Alexa tooolbar enabled so as far as alexa is concerned, its legitimate traffic to your site and your ranking goes sky high

Even google analytics cant tell the difference anymore. So for example, people can buy a few thousand bot hits to their site and configure the bot to stay on your site for a minute or two and then click a few links on your page and voila ..... your bounce rate drops drastically and your session time goes up through the roof

This is really screwing up the industry. You cant trust traffic trades anymore cos a lot of them just send you bot traffic in return for your legit traffic. ( I have a list of sites that trade bot traffic if anybody is interested, just pm me). You cant even buy traffic anymore because its invariably bot traffic you get

I always used to support alexa but its totally meaningless now with all this fake traffic. And they arent the only ones suffering, i dare say google will have to re-think some of their algorithms to try and filter this out

The way its going, in a few months time half the "porn surfing" traffic will be fake !!
