That's just a side effect that some people get, especially when just starting out. I've gotten it before. Just relax, maybe eat something, then stay positive and know that it will go away and there's no heart attack coming.XpressPete wrote: ↑October 30th, 2021, 4:01 pmReally??

Sure, there are some people with heart conditions that don't know about it and can cause negative effects with the heart, but that's rare compared to the many people that get that feeling when smoking.
To be fair, weed is a lot stronger than it used to be and a lot more cannabinoids, so there could be something in it now that scientists/people don't know about yet.
...But, did you eat an edible? I get that feeling when I eat them, kind of shaky and off balance, a fluttery heart, and no high. I don't like them compared to smoking regular flower.

We went for a burger and fries it was really greasy and did not enjoy it, but did not want to make a big deal of it being with friends. Then we went to a club at 10pm, had a few drinks nothing out of the ordinary maybe 5 shots and 2 beers, the music was extremely loud, around midnight I started getting this feeling my heart was about to pop out of my chest and I became nervous and feared I was about to die. My friends noticed it said you kay I said not really. I sat for 5 minutes they said let's drive to kaiser downtown. 3 hours later a blood test, ecg, chest xray they said it's not your heart. My blood pressure was up 194/115. They said it's an anxiety attack gave me 4 Ativan (1mg) pills said when it comes on take one but no alcohol. Go see your doctor next week, if you feel bad before that call 911.
It has never happened to me before I am not sure if it was the meal, alcohol and loud noise that did it or what. Monday I will call get an apoiintment to see a doctor.
ps no I had not had edibles and last time I smoked was 2 weeks ago, I only smoke once in a while.

Pete I had my first AA 16 years ago, I fully understand what you experienced. Worst thing I did the first couple of times was get the blood pressure monitor check my blood pressure because I thought I was having a heart attack.
I ended up in the hospital 4 times in a month 3 times by ambulance. The 4th time the doctor said you are having anxiety attacks, when it starts sit still think of a pleasant thing breath slowly into a paper bag for a minute. He gave me some antidepressant pills to take when I was having an attack but I never bought them. I was drinking beer back then and I know these type of medications and l alcohol can be very bad for you, even lead to cardiac arrest.
I know what triggered mine I was driving on a winding road in the mountains and rocks were falling down the mountain it was seriously dangerous and I was trying to avoid them. I was very thirsty we were coming back from a winter trip up north, I reached for my water the bottle was empty. That got me stressed to the point of having an anxiety attack.
The second time it happened that same week I was driving and I went for my water bottle I had finished it like the time before. I realized when driving or in a car I have to keep a bottle of water with me. That is my comfort zone, you will not see me in the past 16 years not take a cold bottle of water with me when going out. It has happened a few times since but I know it's an AA and sit think of being at the beach watching the sunset. It passes.
Obviously everyone is different and what works for me may or may not for you, but I always joke with my family and friends one of these days I will have a heart attack and will think it is just an anxiety attack. Anxiety attacks will not kill you but in rare instances can lead to heart conditions so go to a doctor follow up. From past experience emergency room doctors are not the best.
You'll hear the usual stuff and it makes sense, try reduce your stress, do more exercise go for walks..... in this case it is true.
All the best Pete.
