[NON-BUSINESS] Alec Baldwin on set accident

As we all know by now Alec Baldwin was filming on set in New Mexico when the gun he fired had live ammunition and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza. Obviously he thought it was not loaded with live ammo and sorry that Halnya died, rest in peace to her.

My question is why would you have line ammunition on a film set, this is baffling me. I always thought these scenes were done with blanks and someone was checking them first. Does anyone know the answer to this question?

My money is on yes, and someone is responsible for what happened. I still question why they had ammunition on the set, a prop gun may not have been realistic enough but real ammo makes no sense. Alec Baldwin from what I understand was the producer or executive producer and he was the one handling the gun.Not saying he is responsible for the death of Halyna Hutchins or Joel Souza being wounded but I can see him being charged with involuntary manslaughter which I believe carried a maximum sentence of 18 months. Maybe they will bring charges against Alec or others we shall see, the bottom line is an innocent woman is dead.

What I will bet my last dollar on is a civil case will be filed, you have deep pockets here, A list actors, movie company......

There are lots of sets where the actors use live rounds for practice, or for practicing scenes without being filmed.
But, the guy who yelled "cold gun" when handing the loaded gun to Alec is most likely definitely in trouble.
But.. there were also protests against unsafe working conditions, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them planted the live round..

"The assistant director on the set of "Rust" who handed actor Alec Baldwin the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fired from a film in 2019 over an incident involving an accidental gun discharge, several outlets reported.

An unnamed producer for "Freedom's Path" told NBC News and Deadline that David Halls was removed from the set immediately after a crew member was injured when a gun unexpectedly went off.

"I can confirm that Dave Halls was fired from the set of 'Freedom's Path' in 2019 after a crew member incurred a minor and temporary injury when a gun was unexpectedly discharged," the producer told Deadline.

The producer told NBC that Halls was "remorseful" about the incident and "understood" why he was being fired."

Presenting their initial findings on Thursday's shooting, officials said they believe actor Alec Baldwin was handed a gun loaded with a live round.

The US actor then accidentally shot dead cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded the film's director.

Prosecutors are refusing to rule out filing criminal charges over the case.

Santa Fe district attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies told reporters that "all options are on the table at this point" as their investigation continues.

Authorities said Wednesday they have recovered some 600 pieces of evidence so far - including three firearms and 500 rounds of ammunition."

Also someone must have put a bullet in the gun at some point, the bullet that killed Halyna, who did that do they know yet.
