I was on Alexa.com and some of the tubes have really gone down, is it because of this Mastercard rule or some other factor eg the law suits and allegations against a couple of them about model verifications.

We've now gone through and been approved under these new mastercard regulations.

Thankfully we have always required signed model contracts and IDs for all our web models and all content is checked by us before being published

Where its really going to hit is the tube sites. When youve got sites like xvideos openly stating that they do not check videos that are uploaded https://info.xvideos.com/content/

Cant see how they are going to be able to continue like that

Then again, the fact that Visa and CCBill have not made any statement makes me think that this might not happen anyway. Like ATVOD a few years ago, they get to the last minute before launch and realise that it just wont work

ATVOD was the UK government's attempt to "clean up the internet" a few years back https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATVOD

Basically every porn site on the planet was going to have to block UK users from seeing porn unless the site could verify the users age (either by uploading a passport - which nobody was going to do - or by the user purchasing a special "porn pass" from his local supermarket where the person at the checkout could verify their age at time of purchase. Imagine walking into your local shop and asking for a porn pass !!!)

Any site that didnt comply was going to be blocked by the UK government. We were going to be the only democracy in the world to censor the internet !!! (china is the only other one)

Pornhub spent millions developing a system to sell these porn passes and we spent a lot of money ourselves getting ready for it all.....even though everybody knew it was never going to work. Most of the world couldnt give a damn about little old England and our quaint laws

Then 2 days before launch date, they cancelled it

Just another example of politicians who have no idea how the internet works thinking they could control it

Ive only heard this second hand but apparently ccbill arent planning on making any changes. They say they are going to carry on as normal and if someone complains then they will look into it.

Doesnt surprise me. Its not ccbills business model to start policing millions of model releases etc. Nor is it mastercards.
