[BUSINESS] HOW IS IT CHEATING A SPONSOR TO SEND WEBMASTER REFERRALS?

What the fish I registered to a lot of sponsors to just use their webmaster referral links make some money referring them affiliates. For now I am not about to say which one but I got an email asking me how I had not sent them any hits or sales but had 2 webmaster referrals. So I told them I am only using them to refer other webmasters they wrote back 4 days later saying my account was terminated for cheating.

That's not cheating... I have some accounts that make money mostly or only on referrals for years and never had an issue.

As ColMike just said that is not cheating. That is really stupid of the sponsor. Guess what they might have saved paying you for 2 new affiliates but they lost out long term. If you look at webmaster directories that's all they do, refer new affiliates.

I think this Summer some sponsors have totally lost their marbles.

It is not cheating unless you use your own referral link to sign up as an affiliate, they are just plain stupid and do not want affiliates.

No not them I was going to register as an affiliate there but after the way this thread viewtopic.php?f=74&t=5609 went I would not send them a hit if they paid me up front.
It is a cams site and sorry to all for typing out the thread title in caps I was mad when I read their bs email and started this post.

We have plenty of affiliates that only refer webmasters to us. Its not cheating at all

Are they saying how did you refer the webmasters if they did not click your link ??

Seems a bit harsh as there are lots of reasons why a click might not show up in your stats (user has cookies disabled / blocked for example) but then if the cookie wasnt set then they wouldnt know it was your referral

Not sure what system they are using but we track user referrals and webmaster referrals seperately so you get seperate stats for each type of referral

They have no clue how the affiliate business model works. They will regret it down the road when they have no business.
