[BUSINESS] forwarding subdomains to directories
Is this a good SEO idea I just had the idea, create subdomains and forward them to directories, so Google picked them up and indexes them. What do you think?

I think subs are treated like separate sites while directories are not.
Unless you have another reason for the redirects, I think you're embarking on a bunch of work that'll yield zero benefit.
But who knows, I've been wrong before. At least once! Lol

I use something similar but for for subdmains, if you mouse over the links in the footer of the forum they are php files I can redirect it one time and all link across my sites with for example "Contact" will change.

Food for thought let me see what the advantages of this are or is it just unnecessary extra work.

what if you set up multiple sub domains and forward them all to the same page?

You'll only get the end page indexed not both urls.

Yep. If you use a 301 (permanent) it should drop the old url in favor of the new one. If you use a 302 (temp) I'm guessing it'll keep the old url and not update to the new one. Either way, you'll get one listing out of your redirect shenanigans.
Did you forget about duplicate content? It used to be something that you should try to avoid. Why not just use dofollow links and point them at the page?
KISS ... keep it simple stupid

Google will find the directories either way , you can make it happen sooner by submitting a site map.

Only reason I see in doing it is for more Google juice, has any here tried it and seen results.
