Its really not worth screwing up this forums SEO capabilities just to try and capture the odd user or get a few extra banner impressions
Send the users to a different page (and use pics rather than text links if your trying to attract porn surfers) and send everybody else straight to index.php
Let the forum software do all the html and seo coding for you. Thats what its designed to do

by all means create your category pages and link to them from the forum index.
Just dont mess with the index page itself cos that affects every other page on this site
Thats what i would suggest anyway. Entirely up to you

Better but you still got a LOT of things wrong with it
No page title, 2 head tags, 2 body tags, no device width on the viewport (means it wont work properly on some mobile phones), meta tags in the wrong place, meta content tags not enclosed, no image alt tags, link title tags.....etc etc. There's a lot of others too and thats before you get to any search engine optimization
There's also a LOT of javascript code you dont need (google chrome reports 14 javascript document write violations)
Seriously let the forum software create the index page (like you had it before). There is not a single coding error on this page index.php AND its optimized for search engines AND multiple devices AND cross browser compatible
Your never going to get it better than that as theyve had years of experience doing this stuff
Even forgetting all the coding errors, all you are doing there is forcing the user to make an extra click to get to the forums and at least 50% of them wont bother.
Remember the golden rule, get the user to where he wants to be in as few clicks as possible. Every extra click means you loose at least 50% to 80% of your users

Pussyhunter - Its not a case of ME getting in here. Of course I can get in here, its google that will have the problem and will downgrade you. Maybe anybody who doesnt understand that is in the wrong business
Alexo - Sure goto the menu, more tools, developer tools. In there you will find the console which will highlight any errors etc. Most browsers have something similar (firefox, ie etc)
Butcher - Better but you still got a few errors. Download Firefox if you dont already have it cos thats got a useful feature for showing up html errors. Simply open the page in Firefox, RIGHT click anywhere in the page and select View Source. You will see all your html errors highlighted in red

ok once youve sorted out the html errors (see previous post) here's a few SEO tips you could use on that page :-TheButcher wrote: ↑July 17th, 2021, 10:04 amTacnet please check now I made some changes, appreciate it.
Peace
1. Take all those meta tags, move them to the top of your head section and replace them with this (copied from your forum index) :-
<meta name="description" content=“sponsorchat.com webmasters business chat and directory”>
<meta name="author" content="SponsorChat">
<meta name="robots" content="index,follow">
<meta name="revisit-after" content=“2 days">
<meta name="generator" content="sponsorchat">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1" />
<meta name="keywords" content=“adult webmaster business board, affiliate program resources, webmaster forum, webmaster board, webmaster discussion, adult webmaster chat, latest webmaster news" />
<title>SPONSORCHAT - Adult Webmaster Chat</title>
Make sure nothing is repeated (eg at the moment you have two keywords tags, two body tags etc )
2. Make sure the page has a proper H1 tag. Google uses these (along with other things) to work out what the page is about. At the moment, your page has no H1 tag
3. Make sure every image has an alt tag with a brief description of that image. Google cant see images so it uses the alt tag to know what the image is about. You can also rename your image files to enhance their readability so for example, instead of calling your image sctoplogo2.jpg, you could call it sponsorchat_adult_webmaster_forum.jpg
4. Give every link a title tag with a brief description of what its linking to. This is what shows up when you hover over a link and also helps google understand your page structure
You'll find most of these things already in use on your forums. Just view the source (right click + view source) of this page index.php? to see them
hope that helps

Not sure where in the theme that would be done but I will look further into it.
