It depends, they threw in user experience a few years ago, too.

Nope, order doesn't matter. KWs in meta titles used to make a difference for words that came up first, but that doesn't matter anymore for SEO, either.

Sounds like some A B testing could help here. But, even if order in meta KWs did matter, meta KWs are pretty outdated and not used much anymore by the bigger SEs anyways.

I thought we were talking about Meta Titles.

Meta keywords have a lot of uses, just not by Google, etc.
Depending on the software used. meta keyword order is also important. I don't use them anymore, so can not offer much on meta keywords current use,

I got off track somewhere lol.
But still, KWs in the titles still can be good, sometimes they don't matter. For example, Google doesn't think they matter too much anymore and doesn't weigh KWs in titles as much because the URLs that the surfer sees and clicks on a lot of times won't show the full URL to the surfer. (The guy who replaced Matt Cutts, I don't remember his name, said this recently. I know that you can still see the URLs and a lot of times are just something like url > folder > page, and a lot of times is basically the same, but still, they said it) It's part of the 'user experience' that I mentioned earlier.
But.. I might be talking about KWs in the URL structure, meta titles I guess have always been useful. People still argue if pipes or hyphens are better.
