Is it safe to use sponsor content without worries of dmca?

I doubt long time sponsors will use stolen or unlicensed content, they would have been caught doing so over time, so yes it is safe.

Good luck using that as your defense in a court, you need it in black and white.

Just hotlink everything/use RSS. Then no one can do anything since none of it is hosted on your servers.
