I like the "www" in urls so do it to my own sites, it does not hurt anything.

Nope. Doesn't matter unless you change your dns to send www elsewhere.

It used to be a good idea to choose the one you prefer and reflect that in your google site settings to avoid getting dinged for duplicate content. I haven't thought about that in a long time. Forgot all about doing that in the past. It's no longer necessary, or is it? If it is, let me know!
