I own some domains with the word 'Tranny", some as old as 17 years. I had one guy today email me that the word "Tranny" is derogatory and I should cancel the domain. And people like me using "Tranny" in their sites put down transgender people.

Tranny was a very popular term a few years ago in this business for transsexual porn, all of a sudden it's bad.

I was going to email this person back with some choice words, but figured why waste my time.

What amazes me is that someone somewhere took the time off their daily schedule, sat down, searched for the whois details and wrote an email with the complaint. That's borderline psychotic

As someone who works directly with the tops Trans Stars in the business and within the trans community as well as a businessman I can tell you this.

The majority of the trans community is sensitive to the use of the word tranny. It represents this sort of old school mentality and derogatory term. IMO it is what it is and they should not be snowflakes and embrace it. As they are in fact Transsexuals T-GIrls Trans Girls and Tranny

From a business side of the things it is in fact still a major search term and will not be replaced on top of the niche search term for some time.

100% agree with every word you posted there Dan. Hell a trans person of all should not be so touchy about a word describing them. Grow some balls and tits and face life is actually what I ended up telling the individual who was giving me shit about my domains. He only got me to say it after he emailed me 2 days later asking if I had reconsidered keeping the domains. He had it coming, some of my domains in the niche are worth a few pennies.
