one of my sites is getting hit hard with a DDOS attack
what do i do it makes me around $1800-$2000 a month so it costs me money when people can not reach it. My host can not seem to prevent the DDOS attacks that have been going on for 2 days plus now. Any suggestions?

Check out Cloudflare, never had a reason to use them but they are very popular.

Who's your host? They should know how to mitigate it and have at least WAFs for that. Stopping attacks can be harder than preventing them, though.
Also check your site/s for malware or data theft if you store that, sometimes DDoS is just a distraction.

Not all hosts can or will stop ddos for free, one I ws with years ago wanted to charge me a daily fee.

If it is a one time deal they have to do their job, if it happens regularly I can see them not wanting to do it for free, but you could be served well checking out Cloudflare, they know their business and can do it right.born2bewild wrote: ↑October 24th, 2020, 11:55 amNot all hosts can or will stop ddos for free, one I ws with years ago wanted to charge me a daily fee.

Some do it for fun, others to take down a specific site, it's hard to tell when you are being hit with a ddos attack who or why is targeting your site. Each time it has happened to my sites I never figured this out.
