I am sure there will be gas available for years to come, just no new car sales.

But can gas stations survive with no new gas cars being sold and just rely on the ones left?TheButcher wrote: ↑October 19th, 2020, 12:50 pm

Last time I looked we were over 200 miles per charge.
BMW has a package to extend that range almost double.

If they ban all gas cars the mid-east will go bankrupt, that's all they have to sell.

30-60 minutes is, fill in the blank here.
Who drives constantly on a cross country trip? Don't most people stop and have lunch, look at the largest ball of whatever this state has?
and you don't have to stop for 30 minutes.
When you stop to P~ plugin for that 15 minutes.
I can go on and on.
sure I can not make the trip from my house to my cousin's house in record time> but the trip will be healthier on me physically.
When I was young and poor and less experienced I made the 1000 mile drive in under ten hours. Reaching speeds of over 120 MPG. only stopping for gas 3 times.
Now I drive half way and get a room with a pool for the kids and restaurant for the wife. The wife was the copilot/pilot on those long drives at 120mph. She likes the pause in the middle of the trips now.
so the point you still have to stop for gas on a cross country trip.
You still stop to see the sights, eat and use the restrooms, so plenty of time to plugin at each stop.
Please don't say a few minutes does not charge the car. YES it does. It does not charge it fully, if you do not stay long enough. but if you stop at half a battery and you charge to 3/4 of battery then you can go that much further till your next stop.
Most/average/almost all of you reading this, have NOT been on a cross country trip in how many years or at all ever?
most people drive less than 25 miles (from memory) per drive.
I live way out in the woods and Walmart/town is only 18 miles away. Walmart takes me about 20 minutes and my wife about 3 hours (exaggerating a bit, sometimes). Plenty of time to charge the car with more electric than it used to get to Walmart.

I wish I had the time and writting skill to reply to this.
This statement is correct yet so incorrect!!
Cleaner?? Really? What is cleaner?
In the past we were not polluting at all. So living in the past would actually be cleaner than most people's misinformed vision of future cleaner!!

Who drives constantly on a cross country trip?
people / college students who have little vacation time, so they drive from A to B as fast as possible, often non-stop for 18-24 hrs, to maximize as much time as possible at B
ie, christmas vacations,
visiting dying relatives / family one last time
etc
