I used the google shortener to tweet adult a few years ago and noticed that some of my shortened URLs had quit redirecting. I'm guessing that's because I used it for adult links. I quit using it because of that.

depends - some redirect to other sites first, others skim traffic, some use subscriptions, most likely got more flavours as well

be careful using sites that do not allow adult, they will cancel your account and you have to go back redo your links.

That thought had crossed my mind when I was about to use one or two url shortners.
