youtube ads got longer

For last 2 days when I go to watch a Youtube video there is a minute plu s ad to wait thru, when did they increase the ad lengths.

Can you skip those? The only ones that I can't skip here are ones that are about 5-10 seconds. The 1-2+ minute ads and multiple ads usually have a skip option.

There is no skip on the new longer ads until it plays over a minute

companies are paying more for full ads so viewers see the full ad rather than the first few seconds

makes sense as more money for youtube stockholders and more money for content providers

both full-ads and skip-ads options are available if you want to buy ads on youtube

if advertisers want to pay for 60 second ads that can be skipped after 5 seconds, good

if advertisers want to pay for 60 second ads that can not be skipped, that's good too

if you don't want to watch ads, go to pbs ... they don't show ads on pbs

or buy a netflix or amazon or paid porn subscription ... and be sure not to put in-video ads and banner ads on your website
