Thoughts on starting a stories site

I'm a fan of literotica and have this idea of starting an adult stories site myself. Is there money in these types of sites or are they just for a hobby and place for others to share their writings.

If you manage to get faithful readers and good contributors I imagine it can be monetised nicely - it would be quality visitors spending lots of time on the site etc ... question is how to get unique stories & how to build the readership of course. Just 2 cents - havent tried the genre myself

years ago i could hire women who would write 1000 and 2000 word sex stories for $1 at upwork (before it changed its name)

some complained that they could get better pay at fiverr

but they still stayed and wrote
