Pre-roll ads are everywhere these days especially on Youtube videos. How effective do you think a 5 second ad is?

I did everything you outlined not to do when I started my 1st blog, I was not here then. Most newbies will not see that post until they find their way here.

The way to make money with a site is to large numbers of visitrs. Piling on advertising with no traffic there is a waste of time.

I want everyone on this thread to be sure to listen to the people that have NO IDEA what they are talking about.

Please do not put ads on your site, I need you to go out of business, so I can have your traffic.

Thank you,

What is the goal of the ad?

If you do not know that tiny piece of information, then you can not measure effectiveness.

Stay away from popunders is the best advice you can give to any new site owner.

Most new sites have no clue what works, it is normal to see larger sites and think doing the same will make them rich. Trial and lots of error is what we all went through.

Start out with 1 banner max, not a banner farm as mentioned here already by others.

We need some more information/background from people giving advice here.
Like what is your life time earnings in this industry. Hell any industry.

Cause most of you seem to be CLUELESS as to what needs to be done or not to be done. Many more of you are just repeaters.

There are too many variables to just set a list of to dos and not to dos for beginners.

What works for one site might not work for another.

If you do not know what confirmation bias is, then maybe be careful what advice you read and the follow.

Especially, if you are a newby.
Newbs beware of NOOBs giving advice.
