Just wondering what factors you take into account ie: what checks you do before considering a link exchange...

My number one concern is the content, text description on the site any what other sits they link to. I will not trade links or traffic with a site that has illegal or pseudo-illegal content, words, descriptions or links to other sites with such things. Why I closed my traffic trades last week and explained the reasoning HERE.
What I do not tolerate and hope others agree is words like "underage" "barely legal" "small" "incest" "beast....." "family" "step family" "rape" "torture" "Child ...." you get my point. Basically anything illegal I will not be associated with.
I se a lot of questionable sites and close the browser, I will not go there.
I hope this explains my point of view on what I feel is right and wrong, not only that what is legal.
I also do not link to sites with more than 1 popunder and if they require the surfer to click to the sponsor before any link is active that is a fail for me, I just mentioned this one today HERE.

Thanks Butcher... with regards to content, text description etc. do you check if the content is original (not just mass imported from sponsor).
How about checks like domain age etc?
Thanks in advance.

My main concern is that it is legal, a responsible site will have a 2257 disclaimer on there with the required information, most sites today have either user uploaded content (tubes) or blogs using sponsor content.sexdumpnet wrote: ↑April 9th, 2020, 12:37 pmThanks Butcher... with regards to content, text description etc. do you check if the content is original (not just mass imported from sponsor).

Age of the domain not really, because a domain may have been registered 16 years ago like sponsochat.com which has always been this forum nothing else. But a 16 year old domain may been expired, sold, offline and some guy picked it up built a site now, you would have to go to archive.org check the past use of the domain. If you are starting a new site and looking for trades the most important thing is to trade with sites in a similar niche, trading with unrelated sites can actually hurt your seo.
My 2 cents

When page rank was around it made things a lot simpler. You could tell by the PR what you were looking at without having to do a lot of searching.

My hunch is Google still uses PR but not for end users, just for their internal metrics.

I bet you are right - or some form of it at least
Btw, did anyone else notice that a bunch of random sites suddenly got PR3 a while back

I noticed it on linkspun that some sites suddenly had pr3 (none had other PRs) - and out of interest i found some old PR testing tools and they also said 3 about those sites ... I imagine a google glitch happened
