Wordpress And Google
Just wondering if anybody has heard any rumors about google starting to punish websites made with wordpress? Also, if you have a wordpress site, has it dropped in rank over that last month or two?

I been thinking about it though. I would imagine most people using wordpress would use yoast, or the all in one seo pack, both of which leave commented html in your source code...
Would that not be considered duplicate content?

Yes its duplicate content - but the G doesnt actually care about duplicate content much. Same as with Frontpage comments in code, the same posts on the blog from the same sponsor RSS feed or posting lyrics from your favorite songs .... odds are its all already out there and as such G is unlikely to rank you for the content in question, it will likely rank the first or the highest authority sources for the same content instead.sexdumpnet wrote: ↑April 6th, 2020, 2:45 amI been thinking about it though. None of that is a problem and its nothing to fret about, unlike so many other factors, but of course if a blog has say 80% duplicate content - then that leaves very little content that G would even consider ranking it for.

Wordpress themes are important, some are much more mobile user friendly than others, and Google likes mobile functionality.

If you use a theme that is not mobile compatible get rid of it. Google in the search console dings your site for mobile issues.

If a theme is put out there today or updated that is not mobile friendly then just stay away from it, there are so many others you can use.

Google has done more to shape the design of themes than any one else. Just simply by requiring sites be mobile compatible.
