I'm a little confused so sorry for asking a stupid question, my site is "https" and I want to trade with a site that on the trade page says
If you use HTTPS add in header in your site the code !!!

Code: Select all

<meta name="referrer" content="unsafe-url">
Is this okay to add, or will it hurt my Google. Plus I trade with other "https" sites, how will it affect them?
Yes it can help not hurt your trades

Depending on the script in question.

By default, if your site uses https and so does the script, the url will be sent as a referrer, same thing with http -> http.
If one is on https and sent to http, that referrer will not be sent since it is being sent to a less secure destination. (default value is no-referrer-when-downgrade)

To make this work in https -> http situations, you have to set it to unsafe-url because that sends a full url to both same and cross origin requests.

I don't think it works for Safari, tho..

Looking at that Moz link I posted before can also explain all of the no referrers or origin only that people seem to get confused about. :p

Less code on a page = best

If you do not need it (or any other code) do not add it.
