redirecting a domain

#1

Post by nudelinks » March 1st, 2020, 1:04 pm

Hi good Saturday march 1st peoples. Have a question. I am losing a lot of traffic off a domain that I am redirecting directly to another site through Godaddy. There are hundreds of pages indexed, but they are not forwarding. How do you forward a domain so all the links out there get to redirect to the new site.

What I do is setup the site on my server, point the domain there, add an index page which redirects where ever I want and have .htaccess do the same for 404's...

Do you want all olddomain.com/page.html to be redirected to newdomain.com/page.html or just all olddomain.com/pages.html to newdomain.com?
Also, is it using WP or no?

why would wp make a difference in the redirection?

Redirecting instead of parking it at your registrar onlt makes sense.

eventually but you can still get a lot of good search traffic while it lasts.

When I buy a domain that has back links I put up a wordpress site , why redirect it and lose all that free traffic, go or sales.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

Look into "masking" if you do redirects.
