There is no registrar of sale prices, do you have one or two domains in mind.

some of the prices thrown out there make absolutely no sense for how the domains are being used for example, sex.com and porn.com in particular.

Knowing what prices are making deals gives you a clue what to pay for a domain.

You can make better decisions based on what has sold, so I agree with the OP, if possible finding out sale prices is a good way to make wise decisions when buying.

Can you even imagine how many people type in sex.com every day, that is a major domain worth every cent of the price it sold for

If pornhub is making $500K to $1 Million as I saw posted, then imagine what sex.com could be making if they had used the same marketing and content.

Pornhub is a more valuable domain than sex in my opinion

Type ins are DOWN, way down.

Google has seen to that.

Unless you have great content than brings your visitors back, without Google, you need Google.

Pornhub domain name is not valuable without the traffic. The traffic is what makes Pornhub valuable.
Pornhub has done an outstanding job creating return visitors without Google, that is their real value.
