Who still hard codes banners. Changing them is a pain in the butt, you need an ad management script.

You would be amazed at the people that hard code in codes from management companies and only use their system.
Many never even considered adding several management co's scripts to thier own system self managed system.
I let other companies manage their ads after I determine where, how often and to whom it might be shown through my own system.

I really do not see how it was confusing.
Do you use a service to manage your ads? You must know the definition of service to comprehend this sentence. Assuming you know what an ad management service is, you should know if you use one?
or
Do you do it yourself?
If you do not use an ad management service an you have ads on your site, then you are dIY. Even if you use some software, you are NOT using a SERVICE. Thus it is still DIY!
Pretty simple question. Any one confused either is thinking too hard or too little.
For those of you confused, I was attempting to keep it simple for you.
Was It too simple or not simple enough?

In the old times we added banners one by one on our sites, times changed and we got smarter and started using banner scripts to manage our ads.

It could have been worded another way but I got the general idea and voted correctly.

Keep it simple, use an ad script where you can change banners and have them update on your sites in the designated spots.

clippersoft ssl expired, they stopped responding and now I can not login to my admin. I even offered to send clippersoft more money, several times over the years. their lack of response should have been a sign.
