Add this line to the functions.php of the theme you are usong.
Or get a plugin but some of them are not current so the code is the easiest
Code: Select all
add_filter( 'auto_update_plugin', '__return_true' );Or get a plugin but some of them are not current so the code is the easiest

Just a tip: Not all plugins work with the latest update of WP , some of my older plugins stopped working so find one that is compatible with this WP version.

Don't do it. Plugins are 3rd party applications. The initial release is reviewed when added to the wp repository. Updates are not. Any idiot can do a plugin and screw it up in subsequent updates. You are better off updating them manually after creating a backup, just in case you need to do a restore. Same goes for theme updates.

Yeah, I have a few reasons why I'm not a fan of updates. If it works and there aren't any security issues, no need to risk it.HeidiHoe wrote: ↑January 25th, 2020, 3:48 pmDon't do it. Don't do auto updates. Take a look at the change log of the new version and make sure you have a backup prior to updating. Check your site after the update.
I just ran into an issue last week with a plugin update and ended up restoring from backup and skipping that version update. The plugin inserts inside header, footer, posts, pages, generic locations, etc. You can do different insertion for desktop and mobile, pretty cool plugin. Problem was that after the update it inserted same in mobile and desktop ignoring the mobile specific code. So I restored from backup and made a note in the plugin description to skip said version. I'll see if this bug is fixed in subsequent update.

Not me I do them myself. I actually get a chance to see which plugins I am no longer using, and delete them at the same time.

Some updates are best left to discretion and WP I let it go do it automatically but plugins I manage.
