[BUSINESS] when using code does upper case matter

Hi every body, happy new year.

I just realized this may affect my sites an seo so asking.

Doe it matter if I use the upper case or lower case, example
<BR> or <br>
<PHP> or <php>
<IMG> or <img>

sometimes i type capital letters in a rush, but don't bother to change to small letters

Some times I forget my cap lock on and start posing on Skype with friends and then I realize what i have done. My problem being I look down at the keyboard and type fast with 2 index fingers, hit return and see what i have written.

And this post had nothing to do with the original question, now I feel silly

Be consistent is how rock n roll, every character on a file is lower case. Not a mix of lower and upper ones.

Upper or lower , or both is not as big a deal as leaving blank lines on a file. Those blank lines slow the page load time.

When a total newb I asked this was told to use all lower case characters on a page and stuck with it.
