[BUSINESS] editing a page online (a question)
Hello Monday , now that I got this off my mind https://www.sponsorchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=3695
I'm new to all this internet and adult plus older than most here so be gentle with this question of it is too dumb.
When modifying links on a page I open my FileZilla FTP, go to the page I want edited, right click on it and choose "view edit" do the modifications necessary and save it. Is this the right way to edit a page or not.

I open the page in 'TextEdit' do the changes and upload it. Always keep a copy of the original page in case your changes are not right.

Just forgot to write in my first post that I always do drag the page to be edited to my desk top, then go though the process I outlined.

If you keep a copy then it is fine the way you do it. Any way you do it keep a copy just in case you need to put back the original page.

Download it before modifying are the magic words, you do not want to know how many times I have messed up a page and had to download it from my backups.chilli.domains wrote: ↑October 25th, 2019, 8:18 amIf you keep a copy then it is fine the way you do it. When I first started out and got FTP I was told to download the file , make changes and upload it, that is how I have been doing it. It works for me.

Download, make changes, upload. My way, that way I have a local copy of the page before changes if I have to upload it.
