Any decent managed server provider will have this covered without the end user having to worry about it.

Any hosts here want to add their 2 cents?
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

My server has a virus scanner option in the C-Panel, I login and run it once a month.

There are tools that you can use to check for different kinds of malware. Like Lynis to check for rootkits, or using your eyes to check source code for base64/eval, or using things like egrep in Linux to check for injections, or checking log files for failed hack attempts for more info, etc.

I haven't tried McAfee for that, though. I've worked with them in the past and don't exactly trust them... : x

So I take it from what colmike7 said you need more than one tool to scan the server for various issues. Is this right?
