Have both choices, many scripts do that.

A fee for the script, a fee to install it, a service contract/support fee.

Random idea:
FF/Chrome app that auto-scrolls right to the recipe when on a recipe site. Lots of people are complaining about all of the pointless text at the beginning of those. But then, you know, insert your own ad or something in there somewhere.. :p
