My friend uses iframes on all his blogs but I read somewhere they hurt seo, is there a clear answer to this please.

They make life easier, I use one to update the copyright date on all my sites by changing 1 file on the server.

Not used one in years, but when I did it was a nice way to manage changes across a lot of sites.

It's been around for years and a neat way to do updates and changes , so I am all for them.

they hurt nothing. but it can depend on the content of the iframe. i just found out i can put my youtube videos in a fucking iframe LOL

You do want to look at the iframe source code. Some don't set a viewport and that can hurt your seo for mobile.

Never run into my search placements dropping for having them on the sites, that is the least of issues when t comes to search engines.
