[BUSINESS] Can't find a merchant account for my high risk business
Hello everyone,
I've been having a ton of trouble finding a company that will provide a merchant account for me so I can process credit cards. Hoping someone here might be able to lend some advice. I know it's more expensive for high risk, but haven't found anyone who would even approve my site, regardless of the cost.
I operate a market place that allows people to open a shop and sell whatever crazy fetish items they'd like, including pics and videos. Think used panties, but mostly guys selling their stuff.
I have a company registered in the USA and one in the UK so have some options.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of where to look?
Thanks,
Luke

Where is your primary place of business, that might be a determining factor. Just tryin' to help narrow your search.

Thanks Linux, I sent you a PM.
And most of the customers and transactions are in the USA. But I'd say there is still about 20% that comes from the UK.

Yep, I spoke to a guy at ccbill, and because we are a marketplace, meaning we handle transactions on behalf of shop owners they said they couldn't help us.

PM me. We had exactly the same problem but found a global company that setup our own merchant account for us and now processes all our credit card trans (at a much better rate than CCBill and the like I might add)

So, where have I gotten? Well haven't found a provider yet, but I am working on a new possible solution. Thinking about switching to a token based system. Users buy tokens with credit cards and use tokens to buy items. I've seen it work on other sites so asking around now to see if someone will process credit cards for this kind of model.
And thanks tacnet, I'll send you a message.

You can save money having your own MA, the rates the third party companies charge are ridiculous.
