Back up very 12 hours
Hi after seeing this thread https://www.sponsorchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=3322 I started thinking what if this happened to me, how can I do 12 hour back up through Cpanel so when I have to use the backup data it is not a day old. Can this be done where you have 2 backups per day saved for a week?

I don't but I asked my host and they replied that Cpanel can only do one backup per day. You have to setup another script I suppose.

Multiple backup solutions per day is a fine idea and I have always wanted to look into it, I will ask my hosting company for their ideas.

First cpanel does what ever it is told to do. so cpanel can back up as often as you want it to.
This (link below) is why hosting said cpanel only does it once per day.

However this page explains how to edit the cron for that once a day backup
https://documentation.cpanel.net/displa ... backupsrun?
This simple answer is to tell the hosting company to determine how long the backup takes and then create a cron that runs after that time period. (focus on the database)
That is how often you can easily create a backup.

Other options
Hire a service.
https://www.jetbackup.com/jetbackup-for-cpanel/ $59.95 per year sounds like a good deal.
https://www.websitebackupbot.com/pricing
WHM setup
https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support ... el-backups
or you can find a script there are many out there.

In summary.
Hosting should know how to create a cron that runs the database backup as often as you want to run it and saves it where every you want it saved. Tell them to do it.
The database is all you really need to backup.
My larger clients with active commerce sites backup the database after each sale. The really active sites backups are always active, so backing up the backups constantly. Raid style system. ( i don't make them, I just make sure something is backing up. The smart people in that field dig the hole, notme. I don't dig holes any more I just tell people that dig better than me where to dig, how deep and what shape. ) Does the hole analogy work?
Backup the site files daily. Unless there is someone uploading new content to the site. Then maybe backup that area more often.
Entire site backups are not required daily.
I only backup where there have been changes.

My daily back up is free with my hosting package, and I do not even update pages on all sites every day so I am fine for now.
