Believe me a million bucks does not buy that much.
My $250k house costs $1600 a year in property taxes.
My driveway cost about the same per year in upkeep, (it is on a steep incline.)
It requires caulking every 5 years at a cost of about $1k
Vehicle taxes and upkeep.
Wife taxes and upkeep.
Medical bills, because the rich don't get free medical care, like the POOR do.
blah blah, million gone quick.

Also learn the tax code first.
The media wants you go believe the rich don't pay taxes. However, if you have YOUR current tax person do your taxes once you are a millionaire, YOU will pay way more taxes than you every thought possible.

My TAX guy told me I would pay in over $650k in taxes. I would only get to keep half? WTF!

Thus I did NOT sell it.
Still working on a tax plan should I ever sell. Hard to find someone with tax knowledge at that level, especially where I live. Due to prejudice against the adult industry.

I'm not a tax guy but I'm guessing that's due to capital gains? Sounds like you need to reinvest money into something that will give you deductions to write money off. Real Estate is a good way to reduce your taxes (or at least it used to be) and there's probably a number of other great opportunities to reduce your tax burden and at the same time possibly create new streams of revenue. What you need is a decent money guy.

I would complete the trust fund that will pay for my grandchildren's education. When done correctly, will also pay for their grandchildren's education.
Then I would be able to focus on a few of my side tasks that I need an attorney for. (patents, trademarks, copyrights, etc.)
I have two inventions (modifications of possibly patented inventions thus the need for the Attorneys. Once I have secured these I will then start product lines from these patented inventions. Thus making more millions.
