Referral Contest: $75 to top referrer in the next 30 days

Hi everyone, let's have some fun and get more new members here. I added a referral system on the board. It lists the start and end date of the contest. For the first one let's keep it simple. $75 to the person who refers the most new members.

Start and end dates for this first contest are listed on the index page:

The script shows the top 3 referrers in real time, which is nice.


How to get your referral link.

1. Click on your user name in the upper right.
2. Click on "User Control Panel."
3. Click on Referrals in the nav bar.
4. Your referral link is posted there.



No fancy terms, basically don't spam the referral link, the referred member has to make 5 posts to qualify, so we don't have hanky panky.
Obviously my referrals will not be included in the contest.

lastly I asked alex24 who I have known for a long time from the old sponsorchat to test his link, I signed up under it, user name test111 so that 1st referral for his account does not count.It was just a test.

When I asked for an extension to phpbb for referrals, they showed me the one that exists. I added it. That's what add on's to phpbb are called "extensions"

I think (again this is a best guess) the lower stats is for all referrals, the one in the "contest" box is for that specific contest. I stand to be corrected and will double check but it seems to me what is going on.

I just asked the sponsor putting up the cash (by Paypal), and she said they will pay both members $75 each.They are very reputable and will do what they say. I am not going to let the cat out the bag for now because they want to make the final thread when they pay the winner ( I guess could be 2 winners).

I sent some invitations and got a referral in the time of contest but still the top 3 list is empty. Did i do something wrong?

No 2 people have signed up as far as I see on the index page stats, one has posted 2 times so far.
