[BUSINESS] How does data help you?

As I've posted here before, I created a bit of software to identify growing trends in the adult industry. The software scrapes websites and evaluates video titles, keywords, searches, ad interactions, and more. Every month, I research and write about a handful of these trending topics. I usually pick 12 to 15 topics to analyze and write at least three paragraphs on each. I write about the history of the topic, why it's blowing up, and what you can do about it.

How could you see this information benefiting your current hustles or business? How do you think you could best utilize trending topics?

I definitely prefer seeing sales data. I have ways to get that but can't really say much about it, though.
Mostly because if you see a trend in a certain niche/paysite/cms/model/program/etc. there could be many reasons for that and not just because it's making sales.
Search data is good, too, though.

This is a valid point. Sales data does more than just show trends, it shows what's selling. However, general popularity data can be incredibly helpful when looking to break into a new niche or change marketing directions. And most of the time, sales data correlates very closely with search/popularity trends.

This is also very true! That's exactly what I addresses when writing about each topic. I spend a lot of time researching why a topic is blowing up before sending it out. For example, is a star becoming popular because of her activity on certain sites? Her collabs with other actresses? Her themed videos or premium snapchat? Lots of factors go into the rise of search activity or tube site appearances.

I try analyze my stats and traffic as much as I can, knowing what is happening helps me stay more productive.

If you go without data you can not fine tune your advertising on the sites to sell. You need to have as much data of your sites and visitors as possible ~ my 1 cent
