(here it is unproofed)
Maybe I should have mentioned that ULTRA from themify.me, link above, has some really advanced responsive design feature.
Every one has heard and should already be using a responsive designed theme. Themes like Divi really did great with their builders and responsive design functionality that allows you to select phone, tablet and desktop designs for each page. You can hide your content from a specific device with the click of a button and provide alternative content with another click.
The term you should pay attention to here is HIDE. Divi uses the term disable which is not accurate (IMHO) for what actually happens. With Divi and all other similar themes I have found the content is hidden no disabled. This means that while the mobile user might see an image sized to fit their phone, the desktop image is still downloaded, but hidden. This is NOT good at all for your SEO. Now you have downloaded two or even three versions of the website depending on the device category and the versions you have created.
Lets go back to responsive design. Back years ago when mobile phones hit the market, if you want a mobile site, well, you had to build a separate mobile version of your site. Then came out the responsive design. This design forces the desktop version of your site into the size and shape of the device category depending on your CSS settings.
Years ago this was great. However, I still see this method in use today. This is really bad for your SEO.
Google has announced and has been using the policy of mobile first for some time now. This means that your site should be built for mobile devices FIRST. Not desktop then forced to fit a phone. I have completely stopped using Divi for their misleading representation of hiding vs disabling content in their responsive designs.
I know for a fact that a fast site is ranked better than a slow site. The first thing I do when hired to perform a site review is check the site with PageSpeed Insights from Google
https://developers.google.com/speed/pag ... Findex.php
As you can see thebutcher needs to do a little work on this site. The site scored a 33 on mobile and 64 on desktop.
The most important factor is Time to Interactive which is 7.1s for the front page page of this site.
Time to interactive is the amount of time it takes for the page to become fully interactive.
What I think the biggest competitor for this site has a 95 mobile score and a 100 desktop score.

Time to Interactive 3.2 s
If you are not using Google tools to test your site for SEO, WTF?
Back to the theme. I have been installing themes on the development servers and WP hosting accounts that I offer. This is one of the main factors I use for selecting a theme. How fast is the theme just out of the box?
Ultra scores very well compared to other themes (sorry not organized enough to share my exact data with you.)
The key feature of Ultra is its ability to DISABLE content depending on the device category, unlike Divi and others that just hide the data. In the long run this allows an Ultra powered WP site to be faster and look better than other themes.
Disabled content is NOT downloaded.
With Ultra you can have a true mobile version of each page, a true tablet version of each page and a true desktop version of each page.
For those of you using the ancient and original version of responsive design. The best thing you can do for your site now is to build your next page for mobile and let the responsive design enlarge the page to fit tablet and desktop. This is the exact opposite of what the majority of you have been taught and is NOW the industry standard for the old style responsive design.
Remember responsive design was created for those people that do not have the money or time to actually created a different site for each device category. Multiple versions of your site is the best way to build a fast device functional site.
Obviously I don't have the time to do it correctly and most of my clients don't want to spend that kinda money on SEO to being with, so I use

Here is how it's been done by me from day one. I make them, add the rss links, move on to the next one, no time to fuck around with the themes, it is all down to generating hits, you need a ton of blogs to make hits & sales. I do not fall in love with my sites, I love the traffic and $$$

Wrong, if you are not concerned with your theme then you might and probably are doing things wrong.
The number one issue, most people can not define a theme correctly.
What is a theme?
If you think it is only the look, feel, layout, colors etc. then you are way wrong.
The theme is the base for your SEO and website functionality.
Are you using a responsive theme? If NO, WTF get on it.
If yes, are you using a modern responsive theme. Do you know what a modern responsive theme is?
Did you know responsive themes were created for those people that could not afford to build their sites properly? Do you know the proper way to build a site?
Responsive themes are the cheap persons way to deal with mobile, tablet and desktop version of a website instead of actually designing different version for the device categories.
