#1

Post by ezdoesitz » February 11th, 2019, 10:21 am

Hi Sponsor Chat do you know of a good free domain appraisal service. I want to buy a domain that is on offer for $870 and want to see if it is a fair price.

Thank you

some domain appraisal services really suck

a site is worth what you can develop it into

google will give you free options

one free service might say a site is worth $10

another service might say the same site is worth $1000000

Over the years I have checked some of my domains on a few free sites and they always came in either way too high or too low. I don't trust any of the free appraisal sites any more.

Agreed
However!
You need to use the tools that others might be using, so you know what price they might be expecting.

Some site out there somewhere has an algorithm that helps determine a price for a domain based on the keywords and expected CPC value of related keywords on Google Ads, I googled again and could not find it. You know how google is, it was on an old site, so no matter how good the content, it slowly slides to the page your screwed.
EMD did lose its bonus, but is still valuable with good content and SEO.
There is no way, that I know, to use an algorithm to generate a value for how easy it is to remember a domain, spell a domain, share a domain. These appraisal tools can not do this. The live person appraisals can be less valuable depending on the age, sex, race, location and life experience of the individual performing the appraisal.

I base a lot of my prices with the CPC algo, trends, and whether it is uses real words or not. You won't find domains at the top of google with made up names, UNLESS they have great content and functionality.

I have bought 3 domains from Godaddy auction and they have made me money putting up white label cams on them. I checked for similar names on godaddy and the prices people were asking made me feel good paying what i did for my domains.
