Direct Traffic - What % is yours?

#1

Post by gotonudecom » February 18th, 2019, 9:24 am

I am curious as to how many of you track your direct traffic.
What percentage of your returning traffic is direct traffic.
if you comprehend how important direct traffic is.
and what you are doing to increase your direct traffic.

Notes on Alexa as there are at least two active threads concerning Alexa.

NUDE.com direct traffic is 83.6% for this year. Another reason I don't care about Alexa ranking. Alexa can not track direct traffic.
Alexa never gets the bounce rate correct either. Says I am up 35%. NOT! Bounce rate is consistent. It is also lower than Alexa guesses.
The GEO location of my visitors is not even close.

More on bounce rate; Bounce rate is great if you are a banner farm like NUDE.com is. Please click and leave. Increases my chances to make money.
Nude.com visitor click through rate is over 100%. Conversions suck compared to the good old days.

Reality check time, I never thought about how much of my traffic is direct or otherwise, I just check the volume.

Bookarkers are mostly freeloaders, they come back and back and back just for the free porn

The difficulty in measuring direct traffic is that a lot of users will simply type your domain into google rather than the browser url, especially if they have google as their home page

I would say about 90% of our google traffic is people searching for our domain name (tacamateurs.com) so obviously they already know the url

Also have to bear in mind that most users wont want to bookmark an adult website for obvious reasons

I agree. FN google and browsers stole 90% of my traffic.
Pre June 1997 all browsers sent traffic directly to domain name.
The netscape navigator gold started sending traffic to netscape search and they want to charge me 0.25$ per click to get my own traffic back.
A few months later Explorer did the same thing.
Only for people that just typed nude into the address bar.

Your referrals in analytics should show the search for your domain name. This is important also.
