wordpress postmeta

my postmeta has 774,616 records for a total size of 712.3 KiB

I deleted the blank and null records.

Then I found thousands that look like, seem to have carriage returns and nothing else.

anyone know how to delete these?

I used this for the blank ones.

DELETE FROM `wp_postmeta` WHERE meta_value LIKE '';

I also used this.

DELETE FROM `wp_postmeta` WHERE meta_key LIKE '%akismet%';

Normally when I install WP I immediately remove plugins like akismet.
This was only about 300 entries.

Be sure to back up after each delete and verify your site still works.

Not deleting postmeta per se but instead deleting unused/un-needed postmeta records. Possible created and left behind from removed plugins or with blank or null data.

I have over 700K postmeta records . Tens of thousands were empty, those are easy to remove. Many have carriage returns, which I can not figure out how to delete.
Just this area of my database is huge.

I want the site to be fast. I don't want to be forced to upgrade just because my database is huge due to empty and wasted space.
