[BUSINESS] need help with terminology.

First thanks for the assistance. I am searching for a feature for a clients website. The words I am using to search for this functionality are not bringing the results I need.

What I am looking for.

Many of you will have visited a site that has updated the layout of the site or added new functionality. A good example is the privacy policy functionality in wordpress dashboard. A popup (for lack of the correct words) appears, points out the new link, describes the new link, allows you to read more or dismiss.

What is this functionality called?
Do you know of any plugins that add this to wordpress?

My main goal is to use this functionality to point out the cart button to new customers, after they have clicked continue shopping.

FYI, I just took over a site where the previous designers almost completely hid the checkout and cart buttons on the mobile version of the site. They could not figure out why mobile sales are so low. LOL! Makes it easier for me to earn my money and look impressive.

My goal is to go out of my way to make sure mobile users know where the cart and check out buttons are.

Thanks again for your replies.

If it's using Woo Commerce, I know how to show a div (the thing pointing out the cart) when the cart count is =>1, then use a cookie to only do that once.

I'm on mobile but I'll show the code soon if that'll work. No plugin that I know of but I didn't look lol.

Looking good :) I've spent a lot of time at stackoverflow over the years. Especially when I still coded my sites in notepad. A lot of time... Nowadays I just slap up wordpress, cruise the ready made plugins and rarely have a need to hunt shit down. Only place I still frequent on a regular basis is W3Schools. That's about the extend of it.

if you see any you like ...

go to whatthemeisthat.com ... i think thats the link

and insert a site url and they will tell you what plugins that site uses

there are other sites too that tell you what plugins a site uses

also check google

and ask at nonadult forums too like warriorforum for plug in suggestions

also check with heidi and brassy and colmike for ideas of what you want

there are many designs these days so just see what sites have the compliance. that you like best and then show that site to others for their ideas

and again ... heidi is a grsat source

^ You don't really need a plugin unless there happens to be one that works for what you need.
If you're looking for a plugin that basically pops up a div, in this case an arrow pointing to the cart when an item is added, as long as there is a way to use a variable in PHP for when the shopping cart is >1 (Woo has this), then check if there is a cookie or not for that, then if not make the div visible and use CSS to position it. Then set the cookie to only do that once. Then I guess if you want, you could also clear the cookie once the cart goes back to empty to do it again for repeat customers. Takes like 15 minutes at a regular pace.

Unless I misread the main post
