My one site has gone from a steady 360,000 to 1,923,000 over a week. My traffic looks about even, my sponsor sales and rebills look about even, so what could be going on.

Who cares.Let us be honest you are in business to make money not to brag how big your site is ranked on any index. All you should worry about is your sales, if they are consistent and hopefully on an upward trend screw the rest. I honestly do not understand why so many people care about third party counters or stats.
